Dzongri Treks (5 nights 6 days)

The best months for trekking and touring in Sikkim are Oct-Nov-Dec and Jan/March-April-May and part of June. However, Sikkim is for all seasons and all reasons. The Rohodenderon flowers are at the best from May to June end. In Dec and Jan there are liable to be heavy snowfalls at the heights. The forests of Sikkim are still intact. Trekking in Sikkim is very different from Nepal, as trekkers are not allowed to roam unaccompanied through the hills as that of Nepal.

Day 1
Drive Gangtok to Yuksom (Trek Base) via Rabongla-Tashiding and Halt.145Kms, approx.6 hrs and alt.6000 ft.
Day 2
Trek begins: Yuksom to Tshoka, Alt 2048 m/12 kms/6 hrs.
Day 3
Trek Tshoka to Dzongri, Alt 4050 m/9 kms/5 hrs.
Day 4
Excursion around Dzongri and Halt o/n on tents or trekkers huts.
Day 5
Trek back to Tshoka. Halt.
Day 6
Trek back to Yuksom.Halt. An additional days to Thangsing can be added or Trek can be broken between Yuksom and Tshoka. Trek ends.

Cost Includes:

  • All meals, tents, toilet tents, Mess Tents, Porters, Yaks, Cooks, Guides, Trekking Permits with fees, Environmental Fees, National park fees.
  • Meals on the trek:
  • Breakfast: Bread/Butter/Jam/Eggs/Tibetan Bread/Honey/Tea Momo + Egg, Corn, Veg Soup/Baked Beans/Tea/Coffee/Fruits or Porridge with fruits, Drinking Chocolate at bedtime. Tea / Coffee at early morning.
  • Meals: Soup/Rice/Dal/Vegetables/Salad/Non-Veg/Dessert (Indian Meals)Soup/Chowmein/Fried Rice /Tea Momo/Momos/Noodle Soup (Tibetan)

 

Cost Excludes:

  • Emergency evacuation costs, Sleeping bags. And Personal Expenses and refund after the trek commences in totality.

 

  • ***For Dzongri Trek and tour: min 2 persons are required to obtain the permits, however the cost burden will be lighter if the group is of min 4 and above. The present relaxed rule lays down requirement of minimum 2 persons in a group to visit restricted and protected areas. Any alterations of route or decision of the guide enroute will be in the interest of the group and Trek Guides decision will be final and binding.

Good attitude*, already used trekking boots or to use them before the trek if it’s a new pair, sun glasses, sunscreen lotion, insect repellents, personal medicines*, water bottles-refillable*, caps, walking sticks*, gloves, toilet paper rolls, heavy woollens for the night as temperatures in the mountains can be very rude in the night fall, windcheaters, waterproof camera bags, rain coat, thermal wear, good sleeping bags with inners*, inflatable mattresses, sufficient camera rolls, battery backups, small back pack for personal carry, medical and cancellation insurance  and lots of Energy-You will require lots of it.
